Population density

Nearly 20 per cent of Finland’s population and aggregate floor area is concentrated in the Greater Helsinki Region, the area of which represents less than 0.5 per cent of that of the whole country. The population density in this area is thus 46 times the national average.


There are 5,206,000 inhabitants in Finland, 2.0 per cent of whom are of non-Finnish origin.
